New cave hotel in Matera, Italy
Of all the places we travel and lead groups, we love Italy the most.
A couple of years ago we led a photo tour in Puglia, the “heel of the boot”. A wonderful trip, full of discoveries. (And, of course, spectacular photographs.)
One of the best discoveries was the town of Matera, which first gained fame as the shooting location for many scenes in Mel Gibson’s film, The Passion of the Christ.
Visiting Matera is truly like stepping back in time. One of its most special and unique features is the cave dwellings, many of which have been inhabited since prehistoric times.
We stayed at the amazing Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita and loved it.
Now, there’s a new cave hotel that just opened. Looks fabulous, too!
The Beautiful Croatian Riviera
An article on news site CNN eloquently portrays the exquisite features of the Croatian Riviera.

Although Dubrovnik is certainly on the tourist map and increasingly crowded, there are so many lovely, unspoiled places along the Croatian Coast where we’d love to take you! Get in touch to talk with us about your own private custom photo tour in Croatia.
Top 10 Places to Eat Seafood on the Coast of Croatia
The food in Croatia is wonderful. Seafood, most of all.
Croatia Week online magazine has published a great roundup of restaurants and places to get amazing food. At prices you’ll be surprised with!
Not surprised that Pet Bunara in Zadar made the list – one of our absolute favourite restaurants in all of Croatia. We eat there on every visit!
Finishing our Spring 2016 Croatia Photo Tour
Today is our last full day on our phototour of Croatia.
Over the past few days we’ve enjoyed incredible photography and travel experiences in Trogir, the ferry from Ploče to Trpanje and the Peljesac peninsula.

We visited and tasted fantastic wines at Matuško in Dingać.

New Travel Photograph: Metropol Parasol
In the Spring of 2014, I led a private photo tour with clients in southern Spain, mainly Andalusia and Catalunya.
We began the trip in Seville – an incredibly beautiful, historic and photogenic city.
This image features the Metropol Parasol, which you can walk around the top of. The scale of the structure is evident by the people at bottom left, whom appear tiny in comparison.
Fine art prints are available. Click the image or click here for a larger preview and online ordering.
New landscape photograph: Alpine Dream
Photograph made near Santa Maddalena and the Dolomites, Italy features a sweeping vista that includes vibrant autumn colours and little alpine villages below a massive, rugged mountain range called the Geisler Group.

Private Tour of Cambus O’May Cheese Co.
During our photo tour of Scotland we visited the Cambus O’May cheese company near Balmoral. They make incredible artisan cheeses and the tour was really fun and educational. Maybe not surprisingly, the tour ended with a cheese tasting paired with Laphroaig whisky–a great combination!
